Can I have a BMW specialist do a pre-purchase inspection, and what do common out-of-warranty repairs on a BMW 3 Series cost?

BMW parts and labor usually cost more than mainstream brands, so a specialist's inspection before you buy is cheap insurance.

Which scheduled services have been done, and what's due next?

Around 86,130 miles many cars need brakes, tires or a major service. Knowing what's due changes the real price.

All-wheel and four-wheel-drive systems have their own service schedule that is easy to skip, and neglect is expensive.

The advertised price is rarely what you pay. An itemized out-the-door quote exposes doc fees and pre-installed add-ons before you negotiate.

Dealers inspect and repair trade-ins to different standards. Ask what was replaced, what was left alone and whether the state inspection is current.
